Yakutsk expands the sports infrastructure
According to YSIA news press, Nikolay Alekseev, the chief architect of Yakutsk, told about the changes in the image of the capital of Sakha Republic due to the Forum “Russia – Country of Sports” and the 5th Children of Asia International Sports Games that should be held in July 2012.
Now the new sports and social infrastructure facilities are actively built in the city. Finally the new covered stadium will be built in the territory of the campus. The stadium will be decorated in Yakutian style and accommodate the sports grounds for volleyball, basketball and other sports play grounds; rooms for wrestling and boxing; gymnasium; center for therapeutic physical training and recreation. The nine-storey dormitory will be constructed for coaches and athletes, as well as27 meterhigh tower with the viewing platform facing the picturesquelakeSaysaryand new bridge under construction. The stadium will be commissioned in spring 2012.
The covered football arena for 3000 seats meeting the standards of the large football field will be completed by the summer end of the next year. This arena will be located in the territory of the city culture and leisure park where “Avtomobilist” stadium was situated till the beginning of the nineties. Apart from the football matches the festivities and other cultural events would be held in this arena.
By November, 2012 it is planned to complete the second stage of the functioning sports complex “Modun” that has been built opposite the Circus. The sports rooms and the study for scientific researches will be placed in the three-storey annex to the existing building.
At the end of 2012 there are plans to complete the new decorated in traditional style swimming pool 50 by25 meterssize that is being built inPoyarkov Street. As this swimming pool fully meets the international standards, any world competitions on swimming could be held inYakutsk.
Alexander Pak, a sole proprietor, contributes considerably to the construction of sports facilities. He builts the sports complex in Komarov Street on his own and plans to complete the works in next July. The swimming pool, sports grounds, mini-hotel and café will be located in this complex as well.
