Yakutian volunteers have been initiated

On October 7th the Volunteer Center under the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of Yakutia has been presented in the Palace of Sports “50years of Victory” along with the initiation of the volunteers of Sakha Republic who would participate in the Forum “Russia – Country of Sports” and the 5th Children of Asia International Sports Games, according to YSNA.

Dmitry Glushko, Vice-President of the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia, Chairman of the Republican Organizing Committee of the 5th Children of Asia International Sports Games, the Secretary of the Regional Department of “United Russia” Party; Alexander Podgolov, Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of Sakha (Yakutia) Republic; Vladimir Maksimov, Director of Administration “Children of Asia”; Matvey Lytkin, Head of Republican Department on physical training and mass sports; Ruslan Timofeev, Head of the Regional Election main office of “Young Guards of United Russia Party”.  Over hundred young people participated in the ceremony and vowed to honor the principles and ideals of volunteerism. According to YSNA news the number of volunteers should come to six hundred people who would work in theVolunteerCenter under the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of Yakutia.

“We witness the rebirth of the volunteer movement in its correct meaning”, Dmitry Glushko said, “We have gathered the skeleton of the movement and these young people will do utmost to carry out the Forum and the Games at its best. I am confident that it could be compared with the Olympic Games. The volunteers should show the best of Yakutia, i.e. its traditions, customs and people unity. Yakutia is multi faceted brilliant that interests the whole world. The big projects are still waiting for volunteers, and neither Republic nor country can do without volunteer movement”.  Alexander Podgolov noted that Center is “the first swallow” of the joint ministry of youth policy and Goscomsports (State Committee of Sports). There will be more projects in the nearest future. In spite of the short period of volunteer movement in Yakutia its representatives have already obtained experience participating in such big international events as International Forum “Russia – Country of Sports” in Saransk, XXVI Summer Universiade in China, Volunteers’ Academy, the International Youth Volunteer Camp in Kazan, Russian Championships on free-style wrestling and sporting in Yakutsk. The best of volunteers have received testimonial letters of Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Mordovia and the Republican Organizing Committee on preparation and holding the Forum and the Games.
